ELA
Our reading program in second grade is called Superkids. This will help us learn all about phonics, spelling, reading, and writing! Please be sure to check students' take home folders for weekly spelling and reading practice. We will have our weekly spelling tests on Fridays!

Students can get on at home with their username and password! Parents... you can also sign on to see what we are doing in class and to get access to additional resources! Many of you have already done so... but please send me your email address if you need to set up a new account.
Math

A great resource for both you and your child is www.zearn.org This follows the Common Core modules and has games for each lesson, explanations about each topic, and more! I handed out usernames and passwords that I set up for each student on Meet the Teacher Night!
Social Studies/Science
Social studies and science will be alternated throughout the school year. We use our Scholastic News magazines to help guide our curriculum. Typically, we will focus on a subject for 4 weeks, and then we will switch.
Religion
I teach religion everyday, and we have Mass on Friday mornings. We will be learning about God as our Creator and Father, Jesus as our Lord and Savior, the Church, the Sacraments, and Morality.
